Who we are
athiv is a table tennis rating app, run by an individual developer in Malaysia. We follow Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Questions about your data: hello@athiv.app.
What we keep
- Your email address, to send your sign-in codes. Other players never see it.
- Your name, home club and athiv ID number.
- Your previous names, if you change your name, for 12 months.
- When and where you check in, and the tables you play at.
- Your matches: who played, game scores, results, approvals and disputes.
- Your singles and doubles ratings and rankings.
- Fairness checks: results that look unusual are flagged for the club admin.
- Reports you make about another player, with any note you add. Other players and club admins never see who reported.
What we don't keep
- Your location. When you join a match with a code, athiv checks once that you're within about 100 m of the club. The location isn't saved.
- Photos. The camera is only used to scan a join code, and nothing is saved.
- Anything else from your phone. NFC only reads the table sticker.
athiv has no ads, never sells your data and doesn't track you in other apps.
Who sees it
Other athiv players see your name, home club, rating, rank and match results. Club admins also see disputes and fairness flags for matches played at their club, and your previous names, so they can tell who played a match. Reports about a player go to the club admins and to athiv. Your email is only used to sign you in.
Where it's kept
Your data is stored on Supabase's servers in Singapore, outside Malaysia. Sign-in codes are sent through Resend, an email delivery service.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an athiv account. When you delete your account, we remove your name, email and home club. Your past match results stay in other players' history as "Former player" with the last four digits of your player number, because their ratings depend on them.
To keep ratings fair, we also keep a scrambled code made from your email, with your last ratings, for 12 months. If you sign up again with the same email, your ratings come back. The code can't be turned back into your email.
Your choices
Delete your account any time in Settings (how to delete your account). Email hello@athiv.app to ask for a copy of your data or to correct it. We reply within 21 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
